POEM OF THANKSGIVING ~~~~~ LIFE GOES ON!!!
~~~~~ POEM OF THANKSGIVING ~~~~~
I'm DRINKING From My SAUCER
I've never made a fortune
. . . and it's probably too late now,
But I don't worry about that much
. . . I'm happy anyhow.
And as I go along life's way
. . . I'm reaping better than I sow,
I'm drinking from my saucer
. . . 'cause my cup has overflowed.
Haven't got a lot of riches
. . . and sometimes the going's tough,
But I've got loving ones around me
. . . and that makes me rich enough.
I thank God for many blessings
. . . and the mercies God's bestowed,
I'm drinking from my saucer
. . . 'cause my cup has overflowed.
O, remember times when things went wrong,
. . . My faith wore somewhat thin,
But all at once the dark clouds broke
. . . and sun peeped through again.
So Lord, help me not to gripe about
. . . the tough rows that I've hoed,
I'm drinking from my saucer
. . . 'cause my cup has overflowed.
If God gives me strength and courage
. . . when the way grows steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings
. . . I'm already blessed enough.
And may I never be too busy
. . . to help others bear their loads,
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer
. . . 'cause my cup has overflowed.
Circle of LOVE
He drew a circle which shut me out,
. . . despised, rejected, a thing to flought!
But LOVE, and I, had the wit to win;
. . . We drew a circle which took him in.
LIFE GOES ON!!!
. . . . . . . . . SMILE! . . . . . . . . . .
There are numerous facial expressions; one of the most useful is The SMILE!
We all need "the healing medicine of the heart"---a smile---even from strangers.
"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity." (English essayist Joseph Addison)
"Don't say you can't make a difference!
. . Don't ever say you have nothing to give!
Each of us can give a smile, spontaneously and sincerely.
. . Its value may not be at once recognized,
but be assured that it will be felt." (Steve Goodier)
"A smile across the aisle of a bus in the morning,
could save a suicide later in the day." (Bishop Fulton J. Sheen)
. . . . . . . Passing Smiles . . . . . . . .
Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu,
. . When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin,
. . When he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth,
. . A single smile, just like mine, could travel 'round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected;
. . Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
(Anonymous poem)
"If the eyes are looked upon as the windows to the soul...
then a smile must be the doorway to the heart." (Anonymous)
A day well-lived......Makes every day a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. (Tina Ecklin)
Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners no matter what fork you use. (Emily Post)
. . . Think big . . .
"Man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" (Robert Browning)
"Once you say you are going to settle for second, that's what happens to you." (Pres. John F. Kennedy)
"Far away in the sunshine are my highest inspirations. I may not reach them,
but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead." (Louisa May Alcott)
"The past is a guidepost, not a hitching post." (L. Thomas Holdcroft)
"The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty,
not knowing what comes next." (Ursula K. Leguin)
"Good is not good, where better is expected." (Thomas Fuller)
. . . Fast Paced Living , , ,
We live in a fast-paced world. We drive fast cars. We eat fast food. We live in the fast lane. "We want it now".
We go to varying extremes to satisfy our desires to "get it now".
We know what we want. We wanted it yesterday. We don't like to wait!!
Though there is certainly a place for decisiveness and action, there is also a time and a place for patience.
Have you learned when to...?:
. . . Wait for the sunrise...there will be another day.
. . . Wait for guidance...learn to be still.
. . . Wait for wisdom...it will come with experience.
. . . Wait for growth...it will come in the fullness of time.
. . . Wait and be contented...it is a secret to inner peace.
There is a time to act, but there is also a time to wait.
. . Learn how to tell what time it is.
Great things can happen for those who learn to wait. (Steve Goodier)
"In patience possess ye your soul." (verse)
"Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
"Today you will find plenty of occasions to pass along a heart-felt smile.
Remember... it's the second best thing you can do with your lips!" (Steve Goodier)
ESPECIALLY for YOU:
Keep your hopes, dreams, and head high. You will make it!!! There are people out here who care. Don't be pulled down by those who don't!! BEST WISHES!!!
THE WORLD WILL COME OUT ALL RIGHT
Good health includes a healthy mind and spirit. Whole and healthy people are
happy people. And happy people make for a healthy world.
A psychiatrist tore a picture of the world from a magazine and
cut it into tiny pieces. "Take these puzzle pieces," he said to a
young boy, "and put the world back together."
In just a few moments the smiling child returned with the
completed picture. "How did you do it so quickly?" the amazed
doctor asked.
"Easy!" said the boy. "I noticed that there is a picture of a man
on the other side. I just put the man together and the world came
out all right."
If each of us becomes whole -- body, mind, and spirit -- won't
the world come out all right?
BEAUTIFUL ONE-LINERS
Subject: BEAUTIFUL ONE-LINERS
1. Give God what is right, not what is left.
2. Man's way leads to a hopeless end; God's way leads to an endless hope.
3. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.
4. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.
5. In the sentence of life, the devil may be a comma, but never let him be the period.
6. Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.
7. Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a face-lift.
8. When praying, don't give God instructions---just report for duty.
9. Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.
10. We don't change God's message; His message changes us.
11. The church is prayer-conditioned.
12. When God ordains, He sustains.
13. WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning.
14. Plan ahead: It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
15. Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.
16. Suffering from truth decay? Brush up on your Bible.
17. Exercise daily: walk with the Lord.
18. Never give the devil a ride; he will always want to drive.
19. Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it.
20. Compassion is difficult to give away because it keeps coming
back.
21. He who angers you controls you.
22. Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop.
23. Give Satan an inch & he'll be a ruler.
24. Be ye fishers of men---you catch them & He'll clean them.
25. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
26. Read the Bible; It will scare the hell out of you.
Now take 60 seconds and give this a shot! Let's just see if Satan stops this one.
All you do is:
1. Simply say a small prayer for the person who sent you this, ( e.g.
LORD, God, bless this person in whatever it is that You know he or she
may be needing this day....)
2. Then copy/forward to five relatives/friends/others(pray for them, too). Within hours five people
would have prayed for you, and you would have caused a multitude of
people to pray to God for other people. 3. Then sit back and watch the
power of God work in your life for doing the thing that you know HE
loves.
What we do in life echoes in eternity........Have a SUPER DAY!!!
Hard Life To Live by Dawna Beery
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
I work till dawn I work till dusk
But I never make a fuss
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
If I should ever think to cuss
I could be beat
Or put on my seat
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
Out in the heat
I pick cotton all day
Without any pay
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
My masters always like to say
You get no vacation
Just a little food ration
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
I am God's creation
Although I am not free
I hope someday I'll be
I am a slave, a hardworking slave
Thoughts from God to be shared - James L. Bryan Sr
(Hi, Jim!)
The beauty in a broken heart, is the ability of a child's smile to make it whole.
Living is like poetry. It can only be truly understood and truly lived, from the heart.
As you see fit to nurture others, so will you also be fed.
Grandfathers and Grandmothers, single or paired were not meant to be kept on the shelf. That great wealth they hold is in the years they have already lived for you. Their riches are most precious, waste them not. Watch them sparkle and glow.
We, being most anxious to improve our circumstance, remain unwilling to improve "ourselves".
Man measures himself by time, God measures him by deeds.
If you feel you must judge the worth of a man's life, then judge him as you would a candle. The true value is not in how long it burns, but in how much light it has brought to the darkness.
It is the soul within a man that shines outwardly as his "light."
Never has a man stood so tall as when he stoops to help a child; and never has a child towered so mightily as when he "loved."
It is far better to set the example than to be used as one.
A mothers love embraces and protects, God's Love releases.
His eyes of truth are always upon me.
There is no sin, so great...that it cannot be forgiven...As there is no fault, so deep that it was not atoned.
"Doing my Christmas shopping early," replied the defendant.
"Before the store opened," countered the prisoner.
